 2007  Iveco Daily

An Iveco Daily is widely considered to be a well known workhorse and a true load bearing vehicle. With their truck heritage this dual rear wheel machine was going to carry anything we could throw at it.

Kris and Erin have plans to travel around Australia in their trusty bus and enlisted the help from us to build the layout and aesthetic dream they had in mind. There were a few elements within the van build which were must haves, such as the bike garage at the rear of the van, ample storage throughout and a working kitchen within the van.

This van is powered by 2 x 120AH AGM Gel batteries, RedARC DC-DC Charger and 360W of RedArc Solar panels on the large roof space. Keeping with electrics it has a MaxxFan circulation vent mounted in the ceiling, 2 x sirocco fans in the bed area, Narva reading lights, Multiple USB 12v charging ports including two in garage, two in kitchen and two in the bed area. 12vDC downlights throughout, strip lighting under the spacious overhead storage and a Projecta Power management screen to keep tabs on how much juice is going in and out.

As this Daily is the MWB option the clients were concerned to build the bed in a lengthways position to avoid encroaching to much on what length they had within the lounge and kitchen area of the van. Therefore a shorter length bed was opted for and it is designed to be an East West bed design that has a length of 1750mm and a width of 1600mm.

The Kitchen includes a foot pump tap to somewhat encourage the consideration of not overusing the water that is stored in the 30L tank below. The sink also has a 30L grey water attached to it. These are mounted in the cupboard directly underneath the sink area. Even if space is an issue it helps to be able to have a small water supply to wash your hands and food and use for drinking water.  A Bushman DC-85L Fridge is mounted under the main section of bench in the kitchen beside a large upright cupboard storage for a Pantry or Wardrobe application. This section of bench also includes a drop bin directly behind the drivers seat which houses the dirty laundry bag and also a drop shelf for any extra storage. In the walkthrough to the cab section has a Thetford 365 cassette toilet mounted within. This area also has a flip up table and box seating which doubles as extra storage also.

The Rear of the Van houses a slide out bike storage that comfortably fits two mountain bikes side by side top to tail. It also has storage nooks on either side of the van for extra space for equipment and garage items. Behind the driver's side wheel arch is where the batteries and electrical equipment are all mounted. Right at the rear are some shelving for odds and ends and a space on the drivers side to allow two 20L jerry cans side by side for extra water. The rear door on the drivers side also has a handy flip up bench for tedious repairs or a roadside coffee stop.

So grateful for Kris and Erin to have trusted in us for their van build which I know they are sure to get plenty of use and happy memories from.
